Creative Events and Themes

At Creative Travel we rejoice in giving your guests a true taste of the exotic places they are visiting. We greet them with welcome ceremonies they cannot experience anywhere else in the world. We treat them to lunches and dinners, rich in mouth-watering culinary delicacies served in unparalleled settings. From royal themes to modern day fantasies, every location is set in a unique theme adding a special flavour to the event. This of course, is in addition to the high quality meals and barbecues that are a standard in each of our programs.

Here is a sampling of some of the experiences that could await your client. We have a selection of many, many more. Themes can be custom created to cater to the needs of the group, because our ideas are limitless. And we believe that your client doesn’t have to be a maharaja to be treated like one.

Royal Welcome Procession. In Jaipur, we recreate the ambience of the traditional welcome accorded to victorious Rajput warriors, greeting your clients with decorated camels and elephants on the lawns of palaces or hotels, while costumed Rajasthani ladies greet them with the traditional oil lamp, and garland them with flowers.

Lama Welcome. A special Nepal welcome awaits guests at the hotel in Kathmandu by men dressed as Buddhist monks blowing their traditional prayer horns. All guests are greeted with the traditional Aarti-Tikka and draped with the traditional scarf of welcome.

The Picnic of Love. Imagine dining outdoors on a hillock overlooking the magnificent Taj Mahal in Agra. On the lush green lawns, colourful ‘khemas’ (decorated tents) are set up. A special welcome followed by a sumptuous meal adds to the magnificence of the venue.

The Mughal Theme. Another great theme event at Agra. Royal gate-keepers usher guests in while hostesses welcome them with flowers and perfume into beautifully lit and decorated gardens. Folk dances precede an incredible spread of Mughlai foods fit for a king. Guests could also slip into Mughal costumes to get a real feel of the era and have a truly unforgettable evening.

The Gangaur Boat Cruise. What better way to spend an evening in Udaipur than to take a cruise around the mystical Lake Palace at Udaipur on the royal barge of the house of Mewar, Gangaur.

Exclusive Dinner at the Residence of the Jaipur Royal Family. For the select few, Creative Travel can organise a dinner in the private quarters of the palace of the Jaipur Royal family. Unseen by tourists, and unspoilt by time, dining in this exquisite room, decorated with mirrors and gold lacquer by the master craftsmen of the 18th Century, will undoubtedly be a once in a lifetime experience.

Elephant and Horse Polo. The city of Jaipur is the historical home of polo. Guests of Creative Travel will relive the glory of this sport with a demonstration game of elephant or horse polo and trick riding. Guests can even participate in a match of skills on elephants. Special ceremonial bands will play and a lavish buffet will be laid out.

Special Gala Evening at the Samode Palace. A magical night awaits at a special dinner at the 300 year old Samode Palace. From the village gate, guests proceed to the palace in a royal procession on camels and camel carts, accompanied by soldiers holding fire torches. The sounds of drums and horns will fill the air. Traditional entertainment is followed by a lavish dinner, and the magnificent evening that comes to a dramatic end with an astounding display of fireworks

Peshwa Haveli Experience. An evening to discover the true magic of Varanasi. Dinner at the Amrit Rao Peshwa Haveli, a 19th Century mansion that stands on the banks of the holy river Ganges with steps leading down to the river adorned with thousands of tiny lamps. An evening made sweeter by the sounds of classical Hindustani music that Varanasi is famed for.

Bhaktapur Night. In the ancient capital of Nepal, Bhaktapur an evening in the outdoors, surrounded by breathtaking temples and pagodas awaits guests. An experience enriched by traditional Nepali ambience, cuisine and a special masked dance performance.

In the Fisherman’s Net. In Sri Lanka, spend a traditional evening by the sea at a fishermen’s cove. As the stars gaze down, and the spray of the sea cools the evening, an amazing variety of seafood delicacies will be served, and every client will be gifted sarongs in classical Sri Lankan batik.
